OUR BEEF

TASTE THE DIFFERENCE.

Savage Farms is located at the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains and also home to Savage Cattle Company. Savage Cattle takes great pride in raising quality beef for our customers. This can only be procured through proper animal husbandry. Our pasture raised herd are grown on a variety of annual and perennial forages throughout the year to maintain a healthy and well balanced diet. Savage Cattle are finished on locally grown and ground grain from farmers in our area. During the finishing process, Savage Cattle are never confined but rather maintain their natural grazing practices with supplemental grain.

FAQS

  • Absolutely! With the purchase of a whole or half, the customer has the ability to choose their desired cuts. Prior to the harvest date, a member of the farm will reach out to you to secure your order.

  • The price for a whole or half is based on the hanging weight of the steer. Our price is $5.25 per pound on the hanging weight. This price includes the processing fee, aging, and packaging (vacuum sealed). “What is the hanging weight anyways?” The hanging weight is the weight of the carcass after the animal has been harvested. Our goal is for our steers to hang between 700-750 pounds. With that being said, customers can expect to fill the freezer with approximately 400-450 pounds of beef for a whole or 200-225 pounds for a half.

  • Rule of Thumb:

    Whole: ≥ 16 cubic ft

    Half: ≥ 8 cubic ft

    Quarter: ≥ 4 cubic ft

(Required size may vary dependent on the hanging weight of steer)

  • Pickups at the farm are scheduled by appointment only. A member of Savage Farms will contact customers via email within 24 hours of purchase to schedule a pickup time and provide additional pickup instructions.
